High Chair K65 by Artek is a classic bar stool designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935. This multi-purpose stool is equally at home around a desk or kitchen island. The low backrest and curved footrest provide just the right amount of support for your feet and back.
The L-legs of the stool are still manufactured with precisely the same technique as when the stool was first launched. The end of the wood to be bent is sawn lengthwise into a fan shape, and thin veneers are glued into the open grooves. This structure allows the wood to be bent to the desired angle by heating and steaming. When dried, this makes for a very strong structure that is easy to attach to the stool’s seat.
The frame of the chair is made of solid birch and the seat is laminate. Delivered assembled. Seat height 59,5 cm.
