The VL38 collection is a family of retro lamps inspired by functionalism. The shade’s organic shape ties neatly into the adjustable brass arm. The lamp emits light downwards in a precisely defined cone, making it a great desk light, but also for diffused general lighting.
The VL38 was originally designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the radio building in Frederiksberg. Today, the building houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
The base of the luminaire is made of die-cast aluminium, the shade part of die-cast aluminium and the arm is brushed brass. Cable length 3.3 m. Shade diameter 13.5 cm.
