The Pirkka collection designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara is a familiar sight in Finnish homes. Its clean and functional design has made this lighter version of traditional vernacular furniture popular not only in Finland, but abroad as well.
Tapiovaara's design philosophy was characterised by the ideal of pure functionality. According to him, a product’s purpose and structural concept should be apparent at first glance.
The table top surface is brown-stained solid pine and the frame black-stained solid birch.
