Armchair 41 by Artek, or the “Paimio” chair, is a sculptural all-time favourite, considered to be one of Alvar Aalto’s masterpieces. Aalto designed the armchair in 1928 for the tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio.
Armchair 41 is not only beautiful but also practical. The wooden armrests of the chair are formed from a single split piece, guaranteeing that your design chair will retain its shape for generations. The Paimio is a lovely decor element for living rooms, offices and public spaces alike.
The armrests are made of lacquered birch, the seat of black painted birch plywood.
