The point of the Rope chair by Artek is, well, a rope that runs unbroken from one armrest to the other through the backrest. The ergonomics of the Rope are not dictated by the chair, but rather the occupant, as the rope conforms to the occupant's body and settles into the optimal position.
The Rope can be a dining chair, a single seat or a decor element in any room.
The chair is designed by the multi-award-winning French designer brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, whose previous work for Artek includes the Kaari furniture collection. The Bouroullecs are known for their ingenious but simple designs.
The frame of the Rope chair is made of steel tube and the seat of ash veneer. Available in two colours, black and light grey. The ropes on the backrest and armrests of the black chair are made of polyester and those of the light grey chair of flax. Seat height 45.5 cm.
