The VLA26 Vega chair from Carl Hansen & Søn is a Danish design classic from 1956. It was initially designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Vega Hall in Copenhagen, which was then used as a labour union hall. Later, in the 1990s, Vega became a famous concert and cultural venue. In 2022, Carl Hansen & Søn started production of the Vega chair, making it available to a broader audience for the first time. Before 2022, the Vega chair could only be used in the Vega venue.
The Vega chair is a lightweight and stackable chair with carefully considered details. The gently curved seat and backrest are made of lacquered oak, with fabric upholstery completing the seat. The black metal legs have wooden details at the tips. The wooden parts of the chair are made of FSC-certified oak.
