The AJ Oxford table lamp is a timeless design classic Louis Poulsen relaunched in 2023. Originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in the early 1960s for St. Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford, the modernist building is considered one of Jacobsen's design masterpieces, and he also designed a large portion of the interior for it.
The AJ Oxford has a graphic and sculptural appearance and creates atmospheric lighting in home on a bedside table, bookshelf or windowsill.
The lamp has a round base and a slim black metal arm, similar to other lamps in the AJ series.
The table lamp shade is made of dim and translucent three-layered mouth-blown opal glass. In the model without the upper metal shade, the white opal glass at the top of the shade enhances the light and creates a glowing halo around the lamp.
