The PH Artichoke pendant by Louis Poulsen is one of the all-time masterpieces of lighting design. Created by Danish designer Poul Hennigsen, the lamp consists of 72 thin metal leaves, precisely arranged in 12 rows mounted on metal ribs. This pinnacle of design effectively prevents glare by reflecting the light beautifully into the room from the interior surfaces of the shade. Parts of the lamp are still made by hand.
This ceiling lamp is an impressive choice for any room in an elegant home and adds a dignified touch to public spaces. Henningsen originally designed the PH Artichoke lamps in 1958 fo the Langelinie Pavillonen restaurant in Copenhagen, where they are still in use today.
