The VL38 collection is a family of retro lamps inspired by functionalism. The shade’s organic shape ties neatly into the adjustable brass arm. The luminaire emits light downwards in a precisely defined cone, making it a great reading light, but also for diffused general lighting.
The VL38 was originally designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the radio building in Frederiksberg. Today, the building houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
The wall socket of the lamp is made of stamped aluminium. The shade is spun aluminium and the stem brushed brass. Cable length 4 m.
