Hanging Lamp N°5 by Valerie Objects is part of a collection of straightforward wall lamps created by design agency Muller Van Severen. This lamp collection was born when the studio in designer couple Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen's old house lacked a plug for a ceiling lamp. That gave them the idea for a wall-mounted lamp with a long arm that could extend the light source to illuminate a desk or dining table, for example. The catch of this lamp collection is in their linear shapes – as if someone had sketched them out in a single stroke of crayon. The image the designers wanted to evoke was a naive sketch given material form.
Hanging Lamp N°5 is part of a collection of lamps that has grown over the years and is united by an instantly recognisable design. The minimalistic, even industrial, design of the Hanging Lamp collection has a playful tone, which makes them an eye-catching addition to any space.
