The Björk Rug is inspired by a natural environment familiar to its Swedish designer, the birch forest. Its black and white wool yarn forms a pattern similar to birch bark, with the leather edging on the ends representing the wood of the birch tree.
Wool is prized for its softness, but also for its natural ability to repel dirt and liquids thanks to its natural oils. Every rug is woven by hand and has an individual pattern. The brightness of white wool also varies depending on when the sheep were sheared. The wool is woven into a 100% cotton warp.
Vacuum the rug regularly. Remove stains with a clean cloth or sponge. Do not let the rug get soaking wet.
