The Tynell 1965 pendant by Gubi was designed by prominent Finnish lighting designer Paavo Tynell. The brass inside and skilful perforation on the shade of this iconic pendant are characteristic of Tynell’s work. They are simple solutions that make the lamp highly functional. The frosted glass diffuser inside the shade disperses and softens the light beautifully.
This softly curved lamp is a great fit over the dining table or any counter, by itself or in a group. Also try it for your bedroom, hallway or children’s room.
In spite of their name, the 1965 luminaires were designed by Paavo Tynell in 1947 for Finland House in New York, which showcased Finnish design. The lamp was manufactured by the Oy Taito Ab craft forge co-founded by Tynell. Gubi put some of this designer’s most beloved lamps back into production in 2018.
The length of the brass-coloured textile cable is 3.8 m.
